just wonderful patterns and shapes of light here. this must be the backside of the building? excellent pov -- love the three tiered diagonal and the dark spotted grasses!

@dj.tigersprout: thanks dj. you're exactly right. it's the backside of the building where one of my sons went to school for seven years. the architecture is very dated, but i always loved how the light hit the back of this place.
I'm guessing this is housing on campus? It's what seems to be the normal look for such a place. All the window air conditioning units seem so old fashion.

@sherri: it's actually an old elementary school. the building was bought by a private organization. it's now a private school, k - 12, for children with learning disabilities. my oldest son was the sole graduate last year :)
Flashback.... I went to a school just like this building, a 1960's sprawling monstrosity. I like how you have captured this one, and also the slight softness is good.

@Observing: elementary schools nearly always give me a slightly queasy feeling, vaguely bad memories. the two i went to were from the same era as this one. good things are happening in this building though - real attempts to make school fit students, rather than the other way around. that could be why i was able to find something to like in this one visually.
Great composition! It reminds me of the high school that I went to, even though it was only one story but the endless windows and the different shapes. The parts that weren't windows were different colors, I guess to break up the monotony.

@Teresa: thanks teresa. i wonder if different colors were sufficient to break up the monotony :)
I particularly like the interesting lines here that, because you took this at an angle, gives us an interesting assortment of geometric shapes. Much more interesting than if taken just straight-on.
