That line of shadow across the top is like a fringe, it really frames it.

Very interesting, I'm curious to know about the black background, also the movenment behind the chair, while the chair is still.

A great intriging image, love the idea.

@Observing: the black upper portions is shadow from an awning. the part that seems like movement is actually in the paint of the wall. thanks for the comment. i drive by this place nearly every day, so i'd been wondering for some time if it could turn into a photo.

wonderful shadowed areas here -- so minimal, but perfectly you and perfectly marvelous! very curious lines on the wall behind the chair -- curiouser and curiouser! ;) the light is pure magic here!

@dj.tigersprout: thanks very much dj. those lines are odd. to me they look like shadows of non-existent chairs. they're really just dark lines in the paint.

great shot! really like the composition. I like the multiple shadows - hard to figure out if that is a post-processing effect or crazy light at the time...but presents a great mystery.

@AG: the thing is, i wouldn't know how to do something like that in post-processing even if i wanted to. all i know how to do in photoshop is remove dust and tweak brightness/contrast. thanks for looking and commenting.
