@Veronelle: thank you veronelle GJC from Kyoto, JapanReally like this one. You often have a very high subject with a large foreground, which often establishes a base for the overall composition and tonal range. Here again you effectively use that to amplify the brightly lit building and truck. Clouds are lovely, too. 2 Sep 2008 11:16am @GJC: thanks gjc. it is true about the foreground. i'm often attracted to the details in the foreground - tire tracks, gravel, weeds in the cracks, etc... @RHYS: that's plenty, thanks rhys! yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecevery nice image - I think that is straight from a movie 2 Sep 2008 3:50pm @yiannis krikis: thanks yiannis Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomGreat 'Living' shot, nothing fancy, it's just 'as is' the reality. Beauty. 2 Sep 2008 4:54pm @Observing: thanks, that's what i always hope for. Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesCool- the shadow is engulfing the truck and seems like it has its back against the wall. I don't know if you guys have Sit 'n Sleep at KC, but corporate chains are eating up the mom & pops one by one. 2 Sep 2008 5:29pm @Howard F.: thanks howard. we don't have that chain, but the same trend. one of my kids just told me a good one though - a starbucks moved in right by a coffee shop where he likes to go. it was a small reverse to the trend. everyone was so pissed off at the aggressive move, that the local place got busier, and the starbucks eventually left. bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI love this...the lighting is so trippy and makes this whole scene feel very surreal. 2 Sep 2008 7:07pm @bluechameleon: thanks very much! this place is right by a place where i like to eat. the workers must think i'm crazy, but that sign seems to catch light in a really unique way. so, i'm often wandering out photographing the place. @Matt Sutton: :-) thanks matt ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United Statesi called, but their delivery charge was absurd. best...jerry 3 Sep 2008 12:19am @ordinaryimages: hmmm, did you mention my name? they might have cut you a deal in exchange for getting me to stop lurking around their place. Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesFor some reason the movie Punch Drunk Love popped into my head. 3 Sep 2008 3:06am @Twelvebit: just googled it - it seems fitting to me |
