dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesthis is straight off a movie set from an Alfred Hitchcock movie! awesome! wonderful character and charm here -- even a bit surreal! the shed just 'pops' off the screen! marvelous!! 7 Oct 2008 5:21am @dj.tigersprout: thanks dj. the place felt a bit creepy when i was taking this. RHYS from LONDON, United Kingdomits a gem, imagine if these old places could talk... 7 Oct 2008 5:45am Reiner from Brensbach, GermanyThe tension between the old shed in the foreground and the moving train in the background is perfect. Excellent image. 7 Oct 2008 6:49am daina from New York, United StatesIt would be a terrific image even without the train, but it does add to the whole. You have taken it at the perfect angle - lining up the hut with the train so that they are both facing the same way and thereby contrasting the movement of one with the stillness of the other. Splendid image... 7 Oct 2008 1:33pm sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesLove the motion blur of that train and the power lines. Exceptional shot. 7 Oct 2008 2:55pm sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United Stateslol at me....I didn't mean there was a motion blur on the powerlines...that would be a big ut-oh...I've acquire a taste for leaving power lines in an image and it's one of the things I like about this capture. 7 Oct 2008 2:57pm @sherri: they remind me of umbilical cords. yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greeceexcellent image - the lonely structure and the moving train - I have no words 7 Oct 2008 3:15pm @yiannis krikis: thanks very much yiannis @Zygène: excactly. thanks zygene. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomA sense of apprehention as the train rattles past, who is in the shed..? Excellent image that is well framed and has the usual high quality. 7 Oct 2008 3:56pm don from spokane, United StatesI like the stark look of this shed. I like the textures and general mood of the shot. Fine B&W work. 7 Oct 2008 4:24pm @don: thanks don Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesThere is a RR shed down the street from my office, I should go check it out. Mine is metallic but filled with dents. This same train probably will pass by my office! Nice work Grant. 7 Oct 2008 4:48pm @Howard F.: thanks howard. that's an interesting thought. Alex Caballero from Barcelona, SpainQue foto mas buena, el movimiento del tren...con el enfoque fijo en la casa, muy buena!!! 7 Oct 2008 5:57pm @Alex Caballero: thanks alex, i appreciate it! Paul from NetherlandsThis choise is so great and strong Grant! You have the eye from a master! 7 Oct 2008 7:09pm @Paul: thanks very much paul, very kind of you Denis from MartiniqueEdxcellent picture, I like the motion blur of the train in the background. All a mood in this picture ! 7 Oct 2008 8:54pm @Denis: thanks denis Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesThat movement of the rail cars are just what this image needed to give it that boost of interest. Nicely done. 7 Oct 2008 11:05pm lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaOh perfect, what a great little shed, with it's light above the door and the doors themselves. ..the train adds a whole new element. The tonal quality of this shot is very appealing, the shed really stands out. 7 Oct 2008 11:21pm @lisa v: thanks lisa Bill from Belton, United StatesI run out of superlatives when I view your work. Superb! Entrancing! Well done! 8 Oct 2008 3:44am @Bill: you're too kind bill - thanks very much! Stovepipe from Ames, Iowa, United StatesThis is excellent, lots of interest in the pattern and motion. Pretty cool sky too. 8 Oct 2008 1:35pm taffer from sant boi de llobregat, Spainwow, this is sublime. and to me it seems to talk about time for both the years-worn textures of the shelter and the movement of the train. very very good grant ! 8 Oct 2008 9:37pm @taffer: thanks very much taffer. i appreciate it. Teresa from Mountain View, United StatesOnce again I stare, fixated on the doors and that twig lying in the foreground in the middle and the blur of the train is fantastic! 9 Oct 2008 4:03am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI agree with dj.tigersprout...Hitchcock came to mind straight away. This is one incredible image. There is more to this than meets the eye, and the more one looks, the more there is to discover! 9 Oct 2008 4:34am Gildas from Le Mans, FranceWhat a great picture Grant! 10 Oct 2008 10:00am @Gildas: thanks gildas |
