Sparks, Kansas
Rolleiflex
Tmax 100
How nostalgic. I'd love looking over all that stuff. We used to go to large estate auctions up in Ohio and I still have some wonderful things we bought....not junk...some really nice stuff. Exceptional image.

@sherri: thanks sherri. this sale is held twice a years - lots of dealers from all over kansas, missouri, nebraska, iowa, colorado and often father. we've been going for years. i usually don't buy a thing, but enjoy myself.
It reminds me of yard sales in Kapunda, a town I used to live in. That camera really has a look all its own, very nice light and shade and I like the angle you took it from.

@lisa v: it's probably my favorite camera lisa. it's more than fifty years old and, to me, a thing of beauty - maybe the most carefully constructed, well designed thing i own.
Me trae a mi memoria, situaciones que he vivdo en las que me sentia como ahora me estoy sintiendo, me encanta...belleza entristecida, saludos.

@Alejandro Caballero: i appreciate this comment very much alex.
it remembers me the fine mess of objects in the attic of my grandfather!
nice cluster of stuff!

I like the desk as the major, eye-catching element in this picture. The range of tones is excellent. I still have my original Rolleiflex, but it is in need of cleaning and reconditioning. They are great cameras with fine lenses.

@don: thanks don. i couldn't agree more about the rolleiflex.
The desk reminds me of a saw horse, but what is pognant in the shot is how the light catches the rim of the bowl and pot and lites on the corner of the desk ever so shortly -

Again, you did erverything right – in my opinion. Your images are always on the same high level.

An eye-catching table amongst the piles of dark objects. Nice shot, anything good like an old camera?

@Howard F.: this sale is huge, and held twice a year. i've gone twice a year for eight years. the cameras tend to be beat up - carried from sale to sale, left out on display tables, etc. yet they're still usually overpriced. i did buy a really interesting vintage kodak darkroom timer one year tough.
Makes me want to go looking for this flea market. Interesting capture.

@Bill: it's an interesting time. sparks is very close to the kansas/missouri/iowa/nebraska intersection.
@Mindy: as my girlfriend scours every inch of the sale, i feel like i see everything ten times. if there's a picture to be extracted at this flea market, i'm going to get it :-)
I assume you bought this one and hauled it back to analog-ville : ] best...jerry

@ordinaryimages: naw, look at it - too modern for me!
beautiful work mate -- just a magical composition out of a 'busy' setting! the lighting and silvery tones are awesome, as usual!!!

@lisa v: thanks lisa!
So many vintage items. The light & B&W treatment are terrific for this photo.

I saw a photo exhibit once (images taken in the 70's) of a flea market. Right away, I thought this is what it might be...the display of ones life for sale. Great shot and feel!

@bluechameleon: i'd like to see that. thanks bc.
This is a departure from your recent posts. Same solid attention to tonality and composition. Nice.

Excellent tonal range throughout the image, I've got 50ct for the pan :P

@Observing: mike, i think you could talk 'em down to a quarter.
Great photo with old objects...this is your "garage sale" ;-)

@Polydactyle: thanks p... this is like a garage sale x 1000...
What a mess... Nice details , I can't stop looking to see all the objects !
