Bill from Belton, United StatesI have always loved to get in the car and "go somewhere" just after the first snow. This looks to be a choice destination. I don't really like winter, but I love winter photos. I like this image Grant. 5 Dec 2008 6:27am @Bill: thanks bill. i could do without winter. but driving after the first snow is a good feeling, and it does shake things up a bit for picture. lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaA superb shot grant, I really love this, makes me want to trudge through that snow and see where that road goes. 5 Dec 2008 6:35am @lisa v: your ready to trade the warm beaches for this snowy road? ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesI know the spot. best...jerry 5 Dec 2008 6:45am @ordinaryimages: i think i've seen you there - the guy with the camera... GJC from Kyoto, JapanGreat elegance in the lines throughout this photo. Well balanced. 5 Dec 2008 8:39am Annie Viguié from Bordeaux, FranceA grey weather, a little snow on the rural road, trees without leaves, and the electric lines like sign of your work ! 5 Dec 2008 8:53am k@ from Paris, FranceHi Grant, this is a superb pic, feeling of sadness cries out of it... but the snow's so brightful is speaks of hope to (spring time soon or later ?).......... 5 Dec 2008 11:35am @k@: thanks k@, i'm hoping for sooner... don from United StatesI like the road or driveway curving off the main road. The snow adds to the impact of the shot. Fine image. 5 Dec 2008 2:21pm rhys from United KingdomOnce again the desolation and bleakness make it special. And for some curious reason I'm drawn to the arc of the road and the diagonals of the wires even though they lead me to totally different places, however both places are empty places, one off canvas and the other beyond the vanishing point. 5 Dec 2008 3:31pm Nilla from Continent: Europe, SwedenNice with a rural photo today! Super-duper GRANT. 5 Dec 2008 3:32pm @Nilla: thanks nilla - did i say you could call me grant? :-) daina from New York, United StatesThe dusting of snow marks the path - a feeling of winter dreariness along with some of its loveliness. 5 Dec 2008 4:17pm alex centrella from California, United Statesgreat bnw, and a fantastic portfolio of work ! 5 Dec 2008 4:26pm @alex centrella: thanks very much alex Alejandro Caballero from Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, SpainAsi que ya tienes nieve, eh? jejeje, me encanta el blanco que has logrado dandole fuerza a la desatutracion, saludos y buen fin de semana. 5 Dec 2008 4:26pm @Alejandro Caballero: thanks alex. enjoy your weekend too. @Vink: thanks vink! Other than the lonely-looking trees, that road sign looks extra lonely & out of place. Great shot. 6 Dec 2008 12:45am michele from Canadawhy haven't i been coming here much before now? i have a lot to learn - this looks wintery and moody and yet not depressing. 6 Dec 2008 1:45am @michele: thanks for visiting michele. JJ from Jersey City, United Stateslooks like a cold and dreary day, and yet the way you have composed this, even thought I am not fond of the cold and winter I would want to get the layers on and see where the road goes 6 Dec 2008 3:04am @JJ: i'll give the secret away - it doesn't go anywhere. if you look carefully to the left, you can see that it just loops around... :-) sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesLooks like a road to nowhere. I love the emptiness of it. Somehow it's fitting to have the dusting of snow. 6 Dec 2008 3:33am Rachael from Heber Springs, United StatesFantastic rural composition. This would make a fine place to sketch. 6 Dec 2008 3:54pm lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaOk, not quite yet, but give me a couple of heat waves and I will be. 6 Dec 2008 9:15pm @lisa v: just as i thought... roamin from Northern Nova Scotia, CanadaMmm my kind of scene, the T-Max coveys the subtleties with ease. 7 Dec 2008 9:38pm @roamin: thanks roamin Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesWhile the photograph is artful, Kansas itself looks about as appealing as Siberia. 8 Dec 2008 11:10pm @Twelvebit: my girlfriend accuses me doing this on purpose. i swear it's an accident. i actually like it here! dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Stateswow mate -- truly faaabulous!!! the old worn road, the tire marks the bleak snow... the barren trees! gorgeous and lonely work here mate -- of course my favorite aspect of this stunning shot are the telephone wires in the upper left -- most would 'mistakenly' crop them out -- but you are da man!!! i love it!!! 17 Dec 2008 4:27am |
