ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesThe tracks and lines lead you right in. best...jerry 14 Dec 2008 6:05am Matt Sutton from Sydney, Australiaso much happening here but still peaceful in your presentation and style Grant ! 14 Dec 2008 7:52am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomBrilliant shot with the snow and tracks, the contrast is perfect. 14 Dec 2008 9:29am Paul van der Meer from Valkenswaard, NetherlandsWonderful grant! Strong , the snowlines makes a beautiful depth in this picture! 14 Dec 2008 9:29am paolo from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Italythe wires in the sky makes the right background just like a net in a technical drawing 14 Dec 2008 9:37am cat from tel aviv, IsraelShadows and lines are beautiful. 14 Dec 2008 12:16pm @cat: thanks cat. to be honest, i don't know what this is. i'm guessing it has something to do with monitoring or controlling trains. GJC from Kyoto, JapanInteresting angle, and I like the parallels in the power lines and tire tracks. 14 Dec 2008 12:34pm martie from US, United StatesGreat composition and lighting. But I have to ask - what is an energy response point and since this is number 5 how many are there? 14 Dec 2008 1:28pm @martie: thanks martie. as to your questions - i have no idea! Polydactyle from Montréal, CanadaExcellent shot! Lines, lines, lines, you kill me again! 14 Dec 2008 3:42pm Robert from Kingsville, CanadaNice one , You can see the tread marks in the tracks too . 14 Dec 2008 4:28pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecetwo line syntems in this image - the parallel at the air and the complicated at the grownd - nice image my friend 14 Dec 2008 5:22pm @yiannis krikis: thanks yiannis, i appreciate your comments Mindy from United StatesThey just keep getting better. This is perfect in every way...the tire tracks that lead you into the super heavy typeface/3D sign which then gets you thinking about all the luscious geometry here. Love this! 14 Dec 2008 6:04pm @Mindy: thanks mindy! Stinkbug Photography from Cochise County, United StatesThose tire tracks are so appealing to me for some reason, not to say I don't like the whole image. 14 Dec 2008 6:14pm lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaA very strong image, I'm intrigued by the fact that the tracks go right up to the edge of the building as if they screeched up to it in an emergency. 14 Dec 2008 9:50pm @lisa v: thanks lisa. it does seem as though they get impossibly close. JJ from Jersey City, United StatesAnother superbly composed shot as is your norm, the tire tracks dragging us into the shot, 15 Dec 2008 12:05am @JJ: thanks jj Bill from Belton, United StatesThis image ranks right up there with "the best" of your work Grant! It is a striking photo. 15 Dec 2008 12:57am @Bill: thanks bill! Chris from Jefferson City, United StatesAnother interesting and very well composed shot. All of the lines here, between the power lines, antenna, guard rail, and tire tracks create a weird sort of symmetry. 15 Dec 2008 3:41am michele from Canadathe positioning of the tracks is fantastic. i also like the tower in behind and how those lines work with the tree branches. and that's some great light bouncing off the snow. 15 Dec 2008 4:06am Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesYou know what, this shot does have a 3D feel to it. I am not saying your previous shot are flat, but the thick snow, tracks, empty tree, and the faint electrical tower in the background, all adds up to a very 3D sensation to it. Excellent shot Grant 15 Dec 2008 5:34am @Howard F.: thanks howard sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesI see it's right under the power lines. The huge tower is barely visible at the far right of your capture. All the lines are incredible...as is the snow for so early in the year. I just can't get over that. 15 Dec 2008 3:42pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesYou're making me re-examine my own compositional inclinations. I usually try to figure out how to exclude roads and parking lots when I photograph buildings, but you manage to incorporate them very effectively. Here, the sky, with the wires overhead, and the parking lot, with the tracks, are like perspective grids bracketing the center of interest. 15 Dec 2008 7:53pm @Twelvebit: i appreciate the comment. on many of these buildings, the road almost seems like part of it to me. daina from New York, United StatesLove the bright winter sun in this shot. And the 3D is so incongruous in this setting. A complex image (as most of yours are) with many details to savor. 16 Dec 2008 1:31am Lucca from Cologne, GermanyAll your images feel very well balanced for me. Lovely this one. 16 Dec 2008 9:55pm dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesthat you have very well balanced compositions is certainly the truth -- but more importantly, these tire tracks are just outstanding!!! :) 17 Dec 2008 4:54am |
