sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesBoy, they don't come more bare bones than that, do they? :-) Neat find and so well captured. 17 Dec 2008 5:22am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaTimeless...you really don't see these anymore. I like how minimal this is. 17 Dec 2008 5:27am Bill from Belton, United StatesThis one is strictly utilitarian. Don't think I have ever run across an open-air car wash. Neatly captured Grant! 17 Dec 2008 7:25am @Bill: thanks bill. i've never seen one like this either - took me a second look to figure out what it was. Annie Viguié from Bordeaux, FranceThis photography is warm, I love, you have a very good light and a very good angle to take a beautiful picture 17 Dec 2008 8:59am @Annie Viguié: thank you annie Alejandro Caballero from Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, SpainMe gusta en especial el cielo, esas linias que hacen las nubes resalta la foto, saludos 17 Dec 2008 10:04am RHYS from United Kingdomthis looks quite spooky to me. The building is rather ominous. LIke its got some dark secret. Good shot though! 17 Dec 2008 11:39am Robert from Kingsville, CanadaNice capture . Archie has all the latest conveniences by the looks of it . 17 Dec 2008 1:05pm Alphons from Kaatsheuvel, NetherlandsA very simple basic carwash, nicely captured by you as-it-is. Well done. 17 Dec 2008 2:45pm Gary from Cochise County, United StatesPretty low budget operation. Nice shot though. 17 Dec 2008 3:16pm ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesI always had a hard time getting my truck in the door. best...jerry 17 Dec 2008 3:23pm daina from New York, United StatesIt looks like a crypt and the pipes and lines over it seem like some crazy experiment or perhaps that is just my mood today. It does seem bunker like and a car wash is not something I would associate with it. One could attribute all sorts of uses to this structure and that is its charm, if one can use such a word in conjunction with this blank looking rectangle. It would have been fun if you had called it untitled. Terrific shot. 17 Dec 2008 3:46pm @daina: are you in a mad scientist mood daina? don from United StatesA fine shot of this 'bare bones' car wash. I like the angle you chose. Looks good to me. 17 Dec 2008 4:06pm cat from tel aviv, IsraelIt has almost got an igloo feel to it because of the white blocks. 17 Dec 2008 6:19pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesI've seen hundreds of these here in So.Cal. but never this clean and simple. Uh, where is the big brush? 17 Dec 2008 7:01pm paolo from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Italyit's smaller than a container, (little bit larger than a door !?!?) and it also has an heating system inside !!! 17 Dec 2008 8:35pm @paolo: thanks paola :) michele from Canadaany photograph with a hose in it is an automatic favorite with me. in this one though i really like the way the wire lines are echoed by the jet stream. 17 Dec 2008 10:35pm @michele: i'll keep that in mind on future photo outings! JJ from Jersey City, United StatesSo long since I have seen the old style car wash like this, superb perspective and lighting as is your norm 18 Dec 2008 12:57am Siam from Chaingrai, ThailandA black and white in very good grey for a photograph. 18 Dec 2008 1:43am dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesa faaabulous criss-crossing of lines!! from the telephone wires, the electrical wires, to the lines in the brick wall and jet trails in the sky!! wonderful!!! 18 Dec 2008 2:03am Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesMy dear Grant - you are putting Archie 'on the map'.
