sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesWow, Grant. Such charm and character in this one. It's the kind of storefront I'd like to have a business in. Exceptional capture. 25 Jan 2009 5:55am Lynne's Somewhat Invented Life from United StatesThis looks like it could have come right out of my childhood. Your images are lovely. 25 Jan 2009 6:04am @Lynne's Somewhat Invented Life: thank you lynne Bill from Belton, United StatesThe drugstore that sits next door to the museum has been in Belton for many, many years. It still has a bit of the old-time charm even though it was updated recently. Beautiful capture Grant. I like it very much! 25 Jan 2009 6:08am @Bill: thanks bill. i wish these places had been open. i happened to wander through on a sunday afternoon after spending the day shooting out in archie, cleveland, drexel, etc. it was a surreal time wandering around there. the weather was unseasonably warm. the town was almost deserted, and somebody was playing tammy wynette loud, over some sort of public loudspeaker. it was blissful. ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United Statesinteresting tonality. best...jerry 25 Jan 2009 6:11am EYES WIDE SHUT from United KingdomWonderful character and charm, something we do not see in modern stores over here. Perfection in mono, with such a timeless quality. First class 25 Jan 2009 6:45am Mindy from United StatesI never heard of a pharmacy museum. What's inside? Fun find. Your usually awesome presentation. 25 Jan 2009 7:19am @Mindy: thanks mindy. i hadn't heard of such a thing either. i came upon this accidentally, and it was closed. so, i'm of no help. Matt Sutton from Sydney, Australiathe light is amazing grant. beautifully composed. 25 Jan 2009 8:21am @Matt Sutton: thanks matt yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, GreeceI like the lighting and the very nice framing 25 Jan 2009 9:50am Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomYou capture such delightful aspects of the recent past. In this age of glass fronted shop-fronts that try to be identical, individual old architectural designs such as this store front remind us that the simple and elegant are just as valuable. 25 Jan 2009 11:00am GJC from Kyoto, JapanOK, I have to say that this is one of my favorites. I know I've said that before, but then you just keep putting out winners like this. The light/shadow combination is, as always, super, and I really like all the interesting geometry in this. Added to it all is an intriguing angle. So well done. 25 Jan 2009 12:27pm @GJC: thanks very much gjc. i appreciate it. dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesCan you buy antique drugs? Excellent b/w. 25 Jan 2009 1:34pm @dogilicious: hmmm. some of those antique drugs are in pretty high demand today (excuse the pun). daina from New York, United StatesAbsolutely gorgeous shadows and simply wonderful shapes - love it! 25 Jan 2009 3:11pm Don from spokane, United StatesA fine doorway shot. I'm now thinking and wondering what pharmacy museum might contain. I especially like the brilliant contrast between he whites and blacks. Nice one. 25 Jan 2009 3:22pm @Don: thanks don. it was closed, so i can't help. bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaExcellent shot Grant! Your framing is superb and I would love to have a look inside :) 25 Jan 2009 3:25pm @kerfendal: thank you kerfendal Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomThe sunshades and painted windows could have been there forever, in fact the whole shop front seems unpretentious, just a simple little store. 25 Jan 2009 4:25pm @Observing: the whole block is like this. i really liked this area. Marcie from United StatesWonderful composition. Love the light..the contrasting whites and blacks...and the old door is terrific! What - may I ask - is a 'pharmacy museum'???? 25 Jan 2009 4:52pm @Marcie: thanks marcie, and, in answer to your question - i have no idea. it was closed when i was there. Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesAgain - a very spartan and well managed image. Compelling geometry and mood. 25 Jan 2009 7:15pm @Stephen Phillips: thanks stephen michele from Canadato me that's a scarier concept than the Metaphysical Center :) 26 Jan 2009 4:21am @michele: i keep trying to raise the scariness bar! david from columbus, ohio, United Statesi love the heavy shadow here. this has such a nostalgic feel. 26 Jan 2009 3:35pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesNice composition. Doesn't look like you're responding to comments. I know the feeling and I don't get anywhere near as many as you do. 26 Jan 2009 6:00pm @Twelvebit: yea, i'm increasingly inconsistent. i just get swamped. i'd much rather make sure to get to everybody's pictures. Teresa from Mountain View, United StatesYep. Right out of an old 50's crime movie. Photo Noir. 27 Jan 2009 5:18am Lucca from Cologne, GermanyI never have heard of a Pharmacy museum.
