I looked at this about 3 times today, the alignment of the fence poles and the last one - the telegraph poles are equally spaced, plus dark to light layers from front to back make this such an interest composition and study.

You often seem to find just the one element that snaps the picture into a unified whole. Here, the pole is that element, lending visual interest to all the horizontals.
