Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesGood shadow play here Grant. Nothing points more to our least imaginative buildings than to place a little nature next to them. 9 Feb 2009 8:50am @Stephen Phillips: very well said stephen cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelI like the relationship between the shadows of the branches and the wires. 9 Feb 2009 10:06am Robert from Kingsville, CanadaExpected to see old tires and transmissions piled up from the title. Do like the tones on the roof and wall. 9 Feb 2009 12:40pm Marcie from United StatesNice composition. Love the blacks and whites...and - as always - the light you capture. 9 Feb 2009 1:02pm sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesSuch beautiful trees hidden there. The shadows against the lines of the structure are exceptional. 9 Feb 2009 1:06pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesShadows are back. with those trees it looks like a filling station in the woods. well done. 9 Feb 2009 1:21pm daina from New York, United StatesSame as Cat, it is the shadows and wires that fascinate me here. The confusion of squiggles that the shadows and wires create is very dynamic in the center of a still and otherwise quiet image. Wonderful composition… 9 Feb 2009 4:50pm TILALA from Bordeaux, FranceJ'aime ce mélange hétéroclyte d'arbres, d'ombres et de fils électriques 9 Feb 2009 6:01pm david from columbus, ohio, United Statesto me this is all about the subtle play of light and shade. really like it. 9 Feb 2009 6:04pm @david: thanks david Laura from Birmingham, United Kingdombeautiful light in this one. Early morning or late at night? 9 Feb 2009 6:49pm @Laura: late afternoon. early mornings are not my best times... dik from McAllen, United StatesInteresting how the dark vertical (tree-shadow) dissects the picture. 9 Feb 2009 6:56pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesNice shot. I can related a lot to this shot because part of my work is to go out to properties like this and inventory all the trees near utility lines and provide suggestion to cut it down or to save (cut cut cut!). 9 Feb 2009 9:37pm @Howard F.: really? sounds interesting. lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaGee is'nt that unattractive? and yet, such a nice stand of trees there. 9 Feb 2009 10:09pm martie from US, United StatesLots of electricals going on here! It's really nice, and I like how we get to see the back. 9 Feb 2009 10:41pm @martie: thanks martie. btw, i'm having trouble getting to your blog today. Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomI love the dance of the shadows here, and the way the square frame is used to best effect 9 Feb 2009 11:06pm Bill from Belton, United StatesA whole new world from the back Grant! A great image... as always! 10 Feb 2009 1:28am Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomLot's of connections and wires there, it's a wonder that the trees don't interfere with the tanks. 12 Feb 2009 1:45am @Observing: it's out of business - perhaps that was part of the problem? Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI see something organic here --like from the ground up, nature is attempting to recapture what has been added by man. 13 Feb 2009 4:11pm |
