@ordinaryimages: um, right... just waiting for a couple billion... that should do it... Didier from somewhere, FranceLooks like a face that could not talk anymore - Beautiful BW 3 Mar 2009 6:01am Gavin from AustriaDidier, I thought the same. The faceless building face! The gap on the right gives the image room to breath. Along with all the shapes and lines. 3 Mar 2009 7:11am Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesThis place has turned into a rectangle collection. As always, Grant - spot on values really make this an interesting image. 3 Mar 2009 7:33am Suzanne from Huntington Bch, California, United StatesI always get a kick out of facades where you can see a face. Sponge Bob maybe? ;o) 3 Mar 2009 7:33am dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesI was thinking a robots face! The different colors of rectangles really give a wide variety of tones. Very well seen. 3 Mar 2009 11:41am david from columbus, ohio, United Statesit really does have a children's drawn robot face about it. this is such a great find! 3 Mar 2009 3:15pm daina from New York, United StatesIt's the "hat" that does it! It is the shape of those paper hats children make by folding newspapers. I tried to not see the face, but it insists on being recognized! Love the hat and the humor. I also like the patch like squares/rectangles which in this context seem hobo like. 3 Mar 2009 4:27pm Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaNice B&W. The B&W conversion really brings out that abandoned feel. 3 Mar 2009 6:56pm @Stunner: thanks stunner (no conversion though - just b&w film) Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesHas a sci-fi robot look to it... Circuit city? 4 Mar 2009 1:42am @lisa v: good point lisa. i was there on a sunday, it might just have been closed for church. i'll check back and let you know... bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaEven with this all boarded up you still manage to find all these great lines! 4 Mar 2009 4:41am Mindy from United StatesI got here late and everyone else has mentioned the building's face. Has a hat, too. Fun shot. 4 Mar 2009 6:46am michele from Canadai totally missed the face - was too busy loving the patches of white paint and the seriously abandoned feeling. 5 Mar 2009 4:14am @Twelvebit: although this neighborhood has been feeling it for decades... |
