Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesAh - looks like a place I could get lost in. Nicely done, Grant. 14 Mar 2009 5:10am dik from McAllen, United StatesThe reflection looks like water. Very nice and meloncholic. 14 Mar 2009 5:49am sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesI always enjoy through the window captures. This one has wonderful clarity. Looks like some interesting items in there. 14 Mar 2009 6:10am Annie Viguié from Bordeaux, FranceI find amusing this big marked neon " opened " and switched off! 14 Mar 2009 7:02am @Annie Viguié: the owner (who isn't named ben) opens this place whenever he gets there in the afternoon and keeps it open until midnight or later. i don't think he does much business. Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesI can't resist a camera shop like this! Nice shot. 14 Mar 2009 8:26am Robert from Kingsville, CanadaBen likely wouldn't like this shot, but I sure do! 14 Mar 2009 1:05pm bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI like this! The reflections are great in this shot! 14 Mar 2009 1:06pm ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesProjector day! I only know of one true used camera shop in KY, and he mostly resells on Ebay. best...jerry 14 Mar 2009 1:41pm david from columbus, ohio, United Statesit looks kinda short on cameras! seems like a dieing place in a dieing economy. good stuff, as ever. 14 Mar 2009 2:02pm Nilla from Continent: Europe, SwedenGood WB. and a handsome sky. I think I also can see a couple of wires (hi hi) 14 Mar 2009 3:06pm @Nilla: you better get right on that! don from Spokane, United StatesI like the content of this shot very much. This looks like one of those places were I know there is a marvelous "buy" just waiting for me to find it! Nice capture of this interesting place. 14 Mar 2009 3:19pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesExcellent composition. I'd think they would be giving away some of that stuff! 14 Mar 2009 6:03pm @dogilicious: you'd be shocked at the prices... cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelExcellent. I bet there's a Polaroid hanging around in there somewhere... That little camera second from the right looks like a forlorn little robot. 14 Mar 2009 8:29pm @cat: i'm sure there are several cat. Tilala from FranceI love these stores which seem to date another time. But where do you live ? 14 Mar 2009 8:54pm @Tilala: i live outside kansas city, missouri - the geographic center of the usa. Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomThat looks like an emporium full of wondrous stuff from times past. Good shot as always. 14 Mar 2009 9:46pm michele from Lethbridge, Canadavery nice how the height of the display items lines up with the tree reflections. i wonder if he has any enlargers. 16 Mar 2009 2:12am @michele: yes, definitely Mindy from United StatesWonderful relics. Love how the table display of slide projectors and other equipment I can almost remember using reflects upon another era. 16 Mar 2009 2:15am shallowregret from Kongsberg, Norwayyou seem to be shooting a different era, very beautiful 16 Mar 2009 9:39pm Carraol from Mexico City, MexicoBeautiful composition, like the concept, the reflections and of course those projectors! Cheers from MC. 16 Mar 2009 9:58pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesShock me. I see Kodak slide projectors on Ebay running from $20 to $130. The ones on the high end have zero bids. The ones running in the $20-$50 region seem to be selling. Should I bring my dad's old Argus to Kansas for sale? 17 Mar 2009 10:16pm @Twelvebit: this store is a puzzle to me. everything's in piles, and dusty, if not outright dirty. it's overpriced, and the owner (not named ben) won't haggle. he opens when he pleases - usually early afternoon - and, i've heard, stays open until after midnight. he seems particularly uninterested in parting with any of his stuff. i'd hang on to the argus. (do i sound frustrated?) taffer from sant boi de llobregat, SpainThey look like sad puppies looking for somebody to pick them out of there... (which seems it's quite difficult to happen, for what I read...) 18 Mar 2009 9:48pm |
