dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesGreat lines and I love that shadow! 17 Mar 2009 12:48pm EYES WIDE SHUT from United KingdomGraphic qualities and neat shadow play and reflection. Very well observed, Grant 17 Mar 2009 9:04pm daina from New York, United StatesSolid and monumental and yet it is only a corner of a building, but you have made it imposing, with an unyielding presence. Even the one shadow seems to shrink from it. I find it fascinating the presence you are able to instill in your subjects. 17 Mar 2009 9:28pm Mindy from United Statesclassic two-point perspective study with one of your signature shadows to add interest. like this :) 17 Mar 2009 9:37pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesIt's just the corner of a building and shouldn't even be interesting, but somehow it's a riveting and powerful image. What is it...the film...the composition...the tone....the light?...all of it no doubt, and the very deep sense of dimensionality they all convey, plus something more that defies description. 17 Mar 2009 10:08pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomIt's amazing that straight lines and weathered concrete can have such a powerful impact. The TMax is really appealing in its handling of subtle tones and light. 17 Mar 2009 11:13pm michele from Canadai agree with daina about the presence you instill into your subjects. the elements sometime seem simple but both you and daina put them together in a way that creates amazing narratives. here i'm struck by the vine running up and then down and the reflections of the vehicles. to me this one speaks of little things full of life energy and determination that go unnoticed and things that are fleeting. opps 'life energy' sounds like i've been too long at the metaphysical center. 17 Mar 2009 11:39pm @michele: i can stand some "life energy" talk. especially if it means being compared to daina. :-) Observing from North West, United KingdomSolid and permanent, like a huge monolith, brilliantly presented in this shot. 18 Mar 2009 1:03am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI just love your straight ahead images...and the way something odd is thrown into the mix. In this case it's the shadow from the (I think) light. There is a real presence here, like while one is standing here looking, there is someone stranding directly behind me. 18 Mar 2009 1:15am JamesC from portland, United StatesIt's unstable at the bottom, inclined walkway, even though the building is strong above, interesting perspective. Enjoyable. 18 Mar 2009 4:33am Annie Viguié from Bordeaux, FranceI love that there are reflections on the right part and not on the left part. I like particularly the part where are reflected the lower right cars it is attractive! 18 Mar 2009 4:40am @Annie Viguié: thank you annie Teresa from Mountain View, United StatesI also like the reflection of the cars on the right side and also the little creeping weeds. 18 Mar 2009 5:03am Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesGreat lines, reminds me of my drafting classes in college. This is a change to abandoned structures on farms; this building looks kinda 'new', haha. 18 Mar 2009 7:20am @Howard F.: i know, new, apparently occupied, and in good shape. what was i thinking... yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, GreeceI like the geometry and the lonely shadow 18 Mar 2009 3:59pm shallowregret from Kongsberg, Norwaylooks like the shadow is holding the building up, great eye 22 Mar 2009 7:24am |
