dik from McAllen, United StatesAnother terrific composition. One of my favorites of yours. 18 Mar 2009 5:07am @dik: thanks very much dik Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesClassic Analog Kansas shot- telephone conduit, textured wall, and a mysterious service door! Nice. 18 Mar 2009 7:21am @Howard F.: thanks howard david from Columbus, United Statesdefintely in a recogniseable "grant" style...i love the composition 18 Mar 2009 11:25am @david: thanks david dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesGreat lines! Definitely "grantesque." 18 Mar 2009 12:14pm @dogilicious: take that back! bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaThis is cool, Grant. The eye follows all the detail through the frame. The lines of the brick are a wonderful contrast to the curves of the piping and meter boxes. 18 Mar 2009 12:41pm daina from New York, United StatesLines and more lines and since it is so much about the lines I realized how important the lines in the door become. If that were a flat area the whole flow of them would be curtailed. I can’t explain why (or it would take too long to do so) but in this image I again see a touch of humor – it has to do with the direction of those lines I think. Anyway terrific and a classic Grant! 18 Mar 2009 3:26pm @daina: thanks daina - always good to get your comments don from Spokane, United StatesThat "good eye" you have has found you another fine combination of lines, angle and shapes that make you photos so appealing and successful. In this one I especially like the way the pull of the power line has bent the support post. Fine image. 18 Mar 2009 3:33pm @don: thanks don Marcie from United StatesNice sense of graphic balance. Love the almost abstract nature of this. 18 Mar 2009 3:49pm yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, GreeceI like the framing and the constuctions that have a new life into this image - nice work 18 Mar 2009 3:59pm Observing from North West, United KingdomThe reason why I like these images so much is, they are presented ''as is'' perfection belongs to another category, but these have a quality of their own. Mellow light Grant. 18 Mar 2009 4:44pm @Observing: thanks mike, i appreciate it. taffer from sant boi de llobregat, SpainWonderful rich tones, amazing how you make ordinary things speak. 18 Mar 2009 9:41pm @taffer: i appreciate it taffer Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesGreat one Grant. It still escapes me how you see these shots! 18 Mar 2009 10:10pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomThe pipes and wires create a very dynamic impression on this image, well spotted. 18 Mar 2009 10:49pm @JamesC: tomorrow, the answer... :-) Polydactyle from Montreal, CanadaYou are the king of the simplicity... but it's not simple to create this kind of composition. I said, THE KING! 19 Mar 2009 12:43am @Polydactyle: thanks very much p! GJC from Kyoto, JapanYou really know how to make wires work for you. I learn a lot from watching you at work. 19 Mar 2009 1:13am @GJC: thanks very much gjc michele from Canadathe vent lines in the door and the vent to the left make this for me. very cool. 19 Mar 2009 2:49am |
