Alex from Barcelona, SpainBuenas texturas, me gusta el encuadre, mitad con cesped...mitad asfalto. 19 Mar 2009 5:07am ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesAn exciting place. best...jerry 19 Mar 2009 5:29am Didier DE ZAN from somewhere, FranceI like this composition Beautiful photograph 19 Mar 2009 5:56am EYES WIDE SHUT from THE LIBRARY OF MY SOUL, United KingdomNot the most hospitible of places by the look of it. There is a dark feeling to this structure. Well captured, Grant 19 Mar 2009 6:32am cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelThe patterns with the rectangles are simply wonderful. It's a picture made of them, right down to the bricks and the stickers with the numbers on. And then the oval shape of the light breaks it up and draws the eye. It's quite excellent. 19 Mar 2009 7:16am Annie Viguié from Bordeaux, FranceNobody in 1237 place ! This photo evokes me the solitude :o( 19 Mar 2009 8:08am daina from New York, United StatesA prison like place with strange markings on the door – straight out of Kafka – at least a modern version for prisoner #1237. One can imagine this low brick building, that resembles a barracks, extending a long way in both directions. What contradicts this feeling is the huge white mail box the patch of grass and the wide walk way to the door, and perhaps it is just the rear entrance to a store after all… 19 Mar 2009 9:50am @daina: i had a reaction very similar to yours. this and yesterday's shot were taken about fifty feet apart. oh, and these are the front entrances, believe it or not. @jpla: thank you jpla @Peter Frank: thanks peter rhys from Timor-LesteGosh, is that a house or a business? Looks grim whichever, however its the 'grimness' that makes it oddly appealing. 19 Mar 2009 11:51am @rhys: i'd agree with grim. luckily, i suppose, it's a business. bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI love the patterns on the door...it actually looks like a very large hand print at first glance. Nice strong tones here Grant. 19 Mar 2009 12:36pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesReally like the geometry and the composition in this one. Excellent work. 19 Mar 2009 1:28pm Stovepipe from Ames, Iowa, United StatesI was about to say what bluechameleon did - first thing I saw was the big handprint on the door. 19 Mar 2009 2:35pm don from Spokane, United StatesA fine composition with a striking range of black and white tones. Very effective image. 19 Mar 2009 3:50pm david from Columbus, United Statesobviously in the same block as yesterday's shot...this is the "posh" entrance though i would guess!! 19 Mar 2009 5:03pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesInteresting exterior, I wonder what the inside looks like, probably a cell block :) 19 Mar 2009 5:57pm michele from Canadafeels like there are secrets behind that door and packages with plain brown paper wrappers in the mailbox. love the composition where we see only part of the grass and only part of the sidewalk. 20 Mar 2009 1:12am dik from McAllen, United StatesThe light looks like that during an eclipse. Most mysterious. 20 Mar 2009 4:59am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI sure wish I could get a b&w conversion to come out looking like this. 20 Mar 2009 9:56pm @shallowregret: :-) |
