Nilla from Continent: Europe, SwedenA small cute shed! 28 Mar 2009 7:47am Matt Sutton from Sydney, Australiasays to me of the many stories and history of the past 28 Mar 2009 11:37am don from Spokane, United StatesThis is a very strong image, Grant! The old shed has such a fine setting... secluded, snow-laden, trees, etc. 28 Mar 2009 3:52pm cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelIt's so beautiful and tone-rich and still on one hand - and on the other it's rather frightening and lonely. The open door of the hut and the blackness beyond, and the dark woods. It feels slightly uneasy. 28 Mar 2009 4:04pm Annie Viguié from Bordeaux, FranceAn attractive small hut. I like the almost black tone of trees behind the small hut. I like so particularly two or three trees a little covered with snow on the left, I like their movement. 28 Mar 2009 4:24pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesNice find. I love sheds/barns/outbuildings. They can be simple or complex but best of all - they have the most character - when they are falling down. No matter how nice a house is, the care of the sheds says a lot about the land. 28 Mar 2009 5:44pm Bill from Belton, United StatesA spectacular exposure Grant! The subject and the surrounds are outstanding! Like it very much! 28 Mar 2009 7:13pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomI like the little trees that have grown around it, no doubt it gave shelter to the seeds as they blew down from the bigger trees behind, a place of refuge that is finally giving itself back to nature. 28 Mar 2009 8:53pm Terry H. from Azle Texas, United StatesThe old shed does not provide much protected any longer. I agree with Richard I like all the small trees growing around the shed. 28 Mar 2009 9:30pm daina from New York, United StatesSomeone walked right past it or are those animal tracks? In any case it looks dark and cold in there colder than outside and no one would stop for shelter in there – just keep going. Love the texture of the snow and the light feels like the last tired rays of the day. I can’t wait for summer to see if the feeling of darkness in many of your images fades away with winter. Wonderful moody image. 28 Mar 2009 9:39pm Suzanne from Huntington Bch, California, United StatesDon't know what a Waldron shed is but it's a nice image. 28 Mar 2009 10:21pm @Suzanne: thanks suzanne. 'waldron' (missouri) is just the name of the little town where this was taken. sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesDid you ask yourself "why?" or are you beyond that? I thought I was beyond it, but I've had a relapse:-) 29 Mar 2009 2:54am @sherri: that's a good question. i guess i've sort of half asked 'why,' but then i think of all the people i know who golf, and the absurdity of that if you think about it for a minute. ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesI imagine the snow is a little deeper today. best...jerry 29 Mar 2009 3:47am dik from McAllen, United StatesIt cuts into my consciousness like a memory. The footsteps are a nice touch that speaks of neglect, just passing it by. 29 Mar 2009 10:57pm Lucca from Cologne, GermanyI'm always wondering for what these small houses have been used. You already captured a lot of them. – love those lost places in your images. 30 Mar 2009 7:49pm @Lucca: sometimes it's fairly clear - the shed is obviously part of someone's property, a farm out building, extra storage, something like that. this one is confusing for me. it sits on a corner in this very small town, surrounded by uncleared land. Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesJust like that? An empty structure in the landscape. 30 Mar 2009 8:13pm @Howard F.: can you believe it? Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesWell, the place probably had something else on it when the shed got put there. 31 Mar 2009 10:34pm shallowregret from Kongsberg, Norwaythere is a story here for sure, great capture 1 Apr 2009 10:04pm |
