Matt Sutton from Sydney, AustraliaGrant, this is marvellous. The perspective from right to left diminishing. The angled shapes add so much here. And those shadows are so "open" next to the light. balanced so pleasingly as always. 2 Apr 2009 5:06am sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesGreat row of structures. The architecture reminds me of some in Arkansas. 2 Apr 2009 5:07am Carraol from Mexico City, MexicoHi Grant, this one its impressive, so isolated and mysterious, love the mood! Greetings from MC. 2 Apr 2009 6:15am @Carraol: thanks carraol! cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelI love the triangular shadow and the play of all the rectangles. The faded writing too - it almost looks like a shadow, a memory of what it used to be. It has the feeling of a monument from a lost culture, I think because of the white tones and lighting- it reminds me of black and white photographs of the pyramids. How odd! 2 Apr 2009 6:39am GJC from Kyoto (京都), JapanWhat a wonderful jumble of geometry at play here. The dumpster is a masterful touch. 2 Apr 2009 7:36am kerfendal from Paris, Franceit seems people leaves this area forever, great atmosphere! 2 Apr 2009 8:21am dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesI like the way the shadow breaks up the straight lines. Well done. 2 Apr 2009 12:53pm daina from New York, United StatesI see no signs of spring at this place – nice irony Grant! And there is something very exact and yet tentative (because it is fleeting) about the meeting of the shadow and the corner of the window. The cube like buildings don’t quite fit with the tower like structure with bricked in windows and false looking wall, both of which seem to be from another, more lavish time. I like the incongruous feeling of the scene in combination with the clarity of a strong mid day sun and light. Terrific as usual… 2 Apr 2009 2:14pm Gavin from Ramsau am Dachstein, AustriaWell found photograph! Lots of shapes on display here. Another visual treat. 2 Apr 2009 3:31pm don from Spokane, United StatesI like your selection today for the range of blacks and whites that it offers. Fine viewpoint and resultant 2 Apr 2009 3:55pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomI love the way the light bounces around this image, the TMax has amazing quality in both the highlights & shadows, superb image Grant. 2 Apr 2009 4:08pm Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesI love the multiple levels, colors, and textures in this building. Nicely done. 2 Apr 2009 5:13pm Suzanne from Huntington Bch, California, United StatesWell seen and, as always, beautifully presented. 2 Apr 2009 5:57pm paolo from Castelnuovo, Italyi wish it could be spring indeed !!! 2 Apr 2009 8:48pm observing from North West, United KingdomThe brickwork is well defined, even along the floor by the container, and although the shadow seems to be quite light, the daylight is harsh by comparison. Super. 2 Apr 2009 11:36pm david from Columbus, United Statesand isn't it lovely, spring in america? sorry :-) 3 Apr 2009 1:07am dik from McAllen, United StatesThe pole on the left closes the open-form nicely. Unexpected surprise. 3 Apr 2009 1:29am Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesAh-ha, hidden behind a fortress is the spring store. Cool find. 3 Apr 2009 8:21am yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecea sad image in contrast with the spring label - very clever 3 Apr 2009 5:12pm Denis from the edge of my blackhole, PalauImpressive and desolate structures. Seems the scenery of a gangsters film. 4 Apr 2009 4:52pm lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaOh this is great, what a building, very well captured grant. 5 Apr 2009 11:32pm |
