dik from McAllen, United StatesStrong minimal, nice to see the text coming in. Very active composition. 5 Apr 2009 5:45am EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United KingdomOnly as I looked hard at the graphic starkness did those shadow lines really leap from the scene. Superbly captured textural variances 5 Apr 2009 6:33am Stovepipe from Ames, Iowa, United StatesDon't know what to say, just a fun shot. Pipes, shadows, cryptic message. Everything is going to be just fine, you know? 5 Apr 2009 7:50am @Stovepipe: i like that description. cat from Tel Aviv, IsraelExcellent shadowplay - the shadows of the pipes and the softer diagonal shadows of something else, not in the picture. The wall looks like a face, too. 5 Apr 2009 11:59am Marcie from United StatesLove the graphic balance and simplicity. WOnderful play of shadow and light. The horizontal bands are great!!! 5 Apr 2009 1:50pm Don from spokane, United StatesThe graphic components in shapes and intersecting lines makes this a strong image. The graffiti while interesting grammatically doesn't add much to the shot for me. The other parts are so strong, they far outweigh the writing. Nice one. 5 Apr 2009 2:18pm daina from New York, United StatesThere is flatness to this image as if all the elements were on the same plane and all the bricks and pipes etc. are like decorative pieces stuck on it. The for lyfe graffiti is fun but has a tinge of sadness to it also. Strong and direct and excellent. 5 Apr 2009 2:33pm Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesWhat a great blend of lines, shadows, textures, and a little bit of human-ness. 5 Apr 2009 4:03pm Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesA good piece of photojournalism, Grant - well done. 5 Apr 2009 5:48pm shallowregret from Kongsberg, Norwaygreat lines and shadows as usual, very pleasing 5 Apr 2009 9:17pm dogilicious from Millerstown, PA, United StatesIs it enhance a teens coolness to misspell? With Stephen it definitely could be photojournalistic. 5 Apr 2009 9:58pm @dogilicious: bad speeling IS cool Bill from Belton, United StatesYou have proved that our midwest graffiti can't compete with that of New York City Grant! 6 Apr 2009 2:11am @Bill: it seems a little tame, doesn't it. sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United Stateslol at Bill's comment....I can't even find any graffiti. The only time I see it is on trains as they pass and I did capture some, but only posted one image. I don't think this person is gonna make it as a graffiti artist and they probably won't be teaching English either:-) Neat find, great light and shadows. 6 Apr 2009 2:57am John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesThe textures and patterns are captivating. Interesting graffiti on this structure. Great job framing and composing this shot. 6 Apr 2009 3:05am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI wonder what that means? 6 Apr 2009 4:00am Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesSome person is claiming this spot as his/her property. Did you get permission for passage? Nice simple shot. 7 Apr 2009 5:53pm @Howard F.: you have to be careful with these overland park gangs howard. they might shoot you with a nerf gun if you mess with them. |
