ordinaryimages from Kentucky Bluegrass, United StatesAmazing the havoc we can create with a property line. best...jerry 3 Jun 2009 5:42am Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesWhat a find! No two matching doors...or angles for that matter. Looks like Picasso designed it. 3 Jun 2009 12:13pm Alex from Barcelona, SpainBuen encuadre compañero, me gusta mucho como le da la luz natural en una parte de este caseron. 3 Jun 2009 1:04pm daina from New York, United StatesLove the sparse clean lines and the strong sense of presence. 3 Jun 2009 1:53pm david from columbus, ohio, United States"sparce" is a good word for this...it's an excellent image. 3 Jun 2009 2:06pm sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesA great old structure. I hope they're still in business. 3 Jun 2009 2:59pm Don from spokane, United StatesA fine range of tones in this sharp, detailed photo. I think it's good that there are no people or cars in the shot. Very effective as is! 3 Jun 2009 3:09pm dik from McAllen, United StatesTha clarity is beautiful. I have many people looking at your work as an example of great photography. Thanks. 3 Jun 2009 5:57pm @dik: i'm honored. thanks dik. bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaSo quiet and seems so desesrted. A classic black and white shot...excellent :) 3 Jun 2009 8:19pm Bill from Belton, United StatesBeautifully exposed Grant! I remember this place! 3 Jun 2009 11:21pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesI like this because it has four eyes and one giant teeth-showing mouth. I also like the fact the handicap sign is way out in the front, away from the entrance... shoulnd't it be close to the entrance? Nice shot. 3 Jun 2009 11:25pm John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesExcellent B/W capture, the white and dark contrasts are captivating in this image. Great shot with interesting lines and patterns. 4 Jun 2009 12:37am Sidney from Manila, PhilippinesI agree with the others... this is indeed a timeless image! 4 Jun 2009 1:29am michele from Canadayou find such unusual places - like this one - that prow front is unusual construction for a garage - as if the builder was trying to use every bit of space they could within the confines of the lot and building codes. with the image i like how the space you've given before the building works with that big wall. 4 Jun 2009 3:45am dj.tigersprout from New York City, United Statesbeautiful work mate -- love the silver sky and silver street -- sandwiching the white brick house in the middle. a beautiful frame! 4 Jun 2009 10:55am Polydactyle from Montreal, CanadaA parking space for disabled where there is nobody. Useful;) Nice find again! 4 Jun 2009 12:02pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI see sort of a cartoon/anime like quality to the building --the left side is something like a ship's prow with a face complete with eyes, nose, and mouth. The front is like two different faces with skewed mouths. These three face, the play of light and shadow, and the scale and shape of the building, bring it all to life. 8 Jun 2009 2:58pm @Twelvebit: i appreciate the comment. there was something about this building that kept me going back to it over the few hours we spent there. i think it's interesting - our tendency to see faces in things. i often see them in other people's photos, but not usually in mine. Lucca from Cologne, GermanyIs there another side of Kansas where poeple live? In the meantime I'm a bit confused … 8 Jun 2009 8:03pm @Lucca: they hide when they see me coming... |
