rhys from Bahrainmy first thought was of The Flintstones! What a dreadfully brilliant building! Top shot! 16 Jun 2009 5:25am Liang from San Francisco, United Statesa great structure! i like the textures from the way it's built, looks abandoned though. nice shot! 16 Jun 2009 6:14am Alex from Barcelona, SpainMe gustan las texturas metalicas de este edificio, buena iluminacion!!! 16 Jun 2009 9:10am jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United StatesThe contrast of the oldness of the parking area and the newness of the building is great! Lots of cool texture. 16 Jun 2009 1:50pm daina from New York, United StatesAgree with rhys “what a dreadfully brilliant building” It is brilliant because it is so amazingly ugly as if one set out to do ugly. All the different surfaces and textures come through wonderfully in your image and the light is just right to show it in all its glory. 16 Jun 2009 2:00pm Mindy | f-stopMarin from United StatesYes, a dreadful looking building, but such an interesting photo with the clashing shapes and textures. Great find/capture. 16 Jun 2009 2:29pm david from columbus, ohio, United Statesworst job i ever had...spent a day selling stone-cladding...i still shudder! good shot. 16 Jun 2009 4:11pm Marcie from United StatesInteresting combination of lines...textures shapes and forms. Love the ranges and tones of grey. 16 Jun 2009 5:07pm dj.tigersprout from New York City, United Stateslooks like their front yard needs a do up! all sorts of landscaping possibilities!!! i suggest an oasis theme with a large blue pool in the center!! and camels -- don't forget the camels!!! ;) 16 Jun 2009 6:51pm @dj.tigersprout: i bet they'd sell this place - cheap. you could realize your vision! the neighborhood's a bit seedy though - bars, liquor stores, creepy motels, adult bookstores... dj.tigersprout from New York City, United Statesoh yeah -- and lots and lots of PALM TREES!!! 16 Jun 2009 6:52pm Terry H. from Azle Texas, United StatesLook like a perfect spot for an all you can eat catfish joint. 16 Jun 2009 7:56pm michele from Canadai had some of the same thoughts - Flinstones, architects at the bottom of their class. but beyond this i love how the ground surface is similar to the stone wall surface. 16 Jun 2009 8:13pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesNot sure it would be so ugly without the windows and metallic top --both of which simply do not go with the rock facade. 16 Jun 2009 10:46pm sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesWhen your site opened I thought this structure looked familiar. After examining it, I guess it's just the cut stone and not the structure. When stone structures are let go they seem to look worse than some other materials. 17 Jun 2009 12:59am Bill from Belton, United StatesYep! Looks like it had been whipped with an ugly stick! But a perfect candidate for a shot! A total hodge-podge of textures, lines and shadows! I love the mailbox mounting system! As always Grant an amazing image! 17 Jun 2009 1:52am Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesThis has all the feeling and look to a lounge-bar. I love the flagstone facade and the little shadow it creates at the bottom. Cool find. 18 Jun 2009 6:05pm Lucca from Cologne, GermanyInteresting contrast. I love these natural stones which you can find very often in the south of Europe. 21 Jun 2009 8:56am |
