GJC from Kyoto (京都), JapanNot only the geometry is pleasing, but so too is imagining ways to finish the sign ... 17 Jun 2009 5:51am rhys from United KingdomI'm assuming you know him better than we do. Has he gone out of business? Great find, love it. 17 Jun 2009 10:47am @rhys: thanks rhys. believe it or not, this guy has about ten "roger the plumber" trucks in his back lot. jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United StatesI was thinking "Roger That." 17 Jun 2009 12:01pm david from columbus, ohio, United Statesi was thinking the old pilot call sign: roger that! but that would have been silly i suppose!! good spot. 17 Jun 2009 1:40pm Don from spokane, United StatesA fine shot of a sign showing what used to be. I like the angle you chose to shoot from. This is provocative in that it makes one wonder what has become of Roger. Nicely done. 17 Jun 2009 3:13pm Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United StatesIn this one photo you see many clues of deterioration....cracked walls....door left ajar.....pavement crumbling....sign broken and amiss....abandoned table. The clues from yesterday. Sad to say that they may sit in their places for many months before someone ever does anything with them. 17 Jun 2009 3:58pm daina from New York, United StatesLike Jeff I finished it with "roger that" and like GJC I love the geometry of this image. Since I see it mostly as geometry i.e. abstract, the recognizable “language” adds a sort of visual joke. But most of all I love the lines and angles and how space is arranged with exceptionally fine framing. 17 Jun 2009 4:07pm Terry H. from Azle Texas, United StatesFun Fact: Some of the best Plumbers are named Roger. Interesting arrangement of objects. I like the rock table leveling device. 17 Jun 2009 4:15pm dj.tigersprout from New York City, United StatesAWESOME -- love your visual sense for finding the lost and arbitrary detail... lost by common man, found, once again and captured as treasure for upcoming generations. beautiful reverence here Grant!!! 17 Jun 2009 5:53pm Mindy | f-stopMarin from United StatesDid Roger's plumbing biz fall into the toilet? Another fun/absurd find. You find so many of these, you're gonna have me thinking that all of Kansas is like this. 17 Jun 2009 6:55pm roentarre from Melbourne, AustraliaThis urban decay image is truely wonderful in deed! 17 Jun 2009 9:25pm observing from North West, United KingdomHas he closed.....? Everything is closing down these days. A good shot Grant. 17 Jun 2009 9:29pm michele from Canadasame as others - saw Roger That and laughed. as others say the arrangement of elements here is so pleasing. 18 Jun 2009 12:05am Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesWell seen! Makes me think of Roger the Shrubber from Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail. 19 Jun 2009 2:54am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesTen trucks? Either his vehicles are very unreliable, or not everyone is getting their work done by Roger. 19 Jun 2009 6:12pm |
