Dulcie from Danville, CA, United StatesLove the smeary graphics of the sign and the interesting, unique angle and composition of this shot. 29 Oct 2009 6:56am Fritsch from Berlin, Germany"Your sister sees the future / Like your mama and yourself / You've never learned to read or write / There's no books upon your shelf / And your pleasure knows no limits / Your voice is like a meadowlark / But your heart is like an ocean / Mysterious and dark" (Bob Dylan) 29 Oct 2009 8:12am 6ft5 from stockholm, SwedenI love old signs beaten up by time, weather and habits :) 29 Oct 2009 9:10am dj.tigersprout from New York City, United Statesi love these old bulky signs! there are still some in downtown San Francisco, as well as here in Queens and Brooklyn! :) 29 Oct 2009 4:06pm Marcie from Newton, United StatesWhat a great old sign!! Love the light reflecting off of it!! 29 Oct 2009 6:23pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesThese No Trespassing signs are so inviting, makes me want to rip the panel down and explore the interior :) Nice shot, like this old sign. 29 Oct 2009 7:08pm bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaWell that sign has seen better days, so full of dirt, grit and weathered like crazy. Such a cool shot! 29 Oct 2009 8:28pm Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United StatesSo sad......seen its days! Great capture :) 29 Oct 2009 10:50pm Michael from Shell village, United KingdomThey went out of business..? Great image Grant, I like the angle. 29 Oct 2009 11:36pm Bill from Belton, United StatesGreat find Grant! "Printing to your needs." What more could you ask for? 29 Oct 2009 11:58pm jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United StatesGreat lines. I like the way the sign lettering shows through the rust. 30 Oct 2009 1:25am Luis A. De Jesus R. from Mexico City, MexicoImages like this make me wonder about America's future. It's true that nothing lasts forever, but they could last longer if "the system" worked for everyone. I don't know why this place is shut down, and it looks like has been down for some time, but I know the time, effort, and money that goes into building a business and it's sad to see one have to close down. Well documented, Grant. Cheers! 30 Oct 2009 2:09am michele from Canadamakes me smile. maybe you don't mean it this way but i think a lot of writers feel this way about publishing houses - boarded up, no trespassing sign, impossible access. 30 Oct 2009 3:45am sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesI find it sad if this is actually a printing company where they ran presses. Our oldest son was a pressman for years. He loved it. Long story, but he's teaching school now and loves it even more. However, he'll always treasure those years. 30 Oct 2009 4:15am david from Columbus, United Stateswhat a fabulous sign...i can just picture the rust here! really excellent shot. 30 Oct 2009 11:19am RPepper from Brooklyn, United StatesWow, great shot. Love the sign and the sky behind. Really love the no trespassing sign at the bottom. nice work! 31 Oct 2009 12:18am rhys from United KingdomI hope someone rescues this sign and keeps it preserved in this exact state, I adore the ancient faded typography and distressed surface. 2 Nov 2009 6:42am Chris Parr from Jefferson City, United StatesFantastic old sign. Brick, metal, wood, sky...a little of everything in this one! 2 Nov 2009 4:13pm |
