you feel kind of sorry for the house, it looks well kept but also looks like nobody lives there. Even the big tree is giving it a hug.

Haha, if you build it, they will come? The corn field reminds me of the movie Field of Dreams.

Beautifully snuggled under the tree, and corn in the fields...life is good !

"Day in and day out from runnin' / Thru dirty windows and lights / Forgettin' the glorious sunrise / Wanderin' aint no place to be" (Malcolm Holcombe)
A killer combination of your great play of shadows & your incredible sky. Brilliant photograph, Grant! And wandering definitely is a place to be when walking with you. All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

This sky is terribly beautiful. I like also the light and the shadows on the house.

Love the ominous darkness of this..and the surprise light bathing the house. Really wonderful!!!

I like houses like this and there is a real sense of space and peace that comes across, it has a lovely mood to it.

Grant, those house shadows almost make it look like the front part of the building is swinging.. Well composed.

Nice. I like the lawn trimmed with casual thoroughness, the funky porch roof thing, the balance throughout the image. In contrast to some of the the buildings you've photographed, it seems clear that this one has people with lives attached to it.

they seem to be missing a porch somehow :-)
a nicely balanced shot.

Fantastic range of tones. Very odd porch!

As interesting as the house is, I find myself drawn to the clouds and corn to the left. Great balance in this shot.

Very beautiful black and white! Storms a brewin'....corn's wavin' and the sun's about to say goodbye!

Super . Love this shot . Dark clouds behind, but still enough light and sun on the house .

Very beautiful light and shadows , beautiful sky

i love the space between the side of the house and the tree. for some reason it feels intensely still.

i love the light and shadow here Grant -- very lovely.

your pics seem to represent a kind of ghost land, where nobody exists excepting a courageous photographer :)this is what it makes them very unique, i think.
best wishes.

@sebastian: thanks very much sebastian. to be honest though, i'm a bit nervous. when my girlfriend goes out with me she is fearless about going into abandoned buildings. i prefer to snap and go...
This is beautiful, Grant. Reminds me of the homes my grandmothers lived in.
